Sousoukakia
Ingredients:
½ kg mince
2 pieces of bread, crusts removed
1 egg
1clove garlic
ground cumin
2 teaspooons salt
freshly ground black pepper
½ cup butter
4 ripe tomatoes
½ cup red or white wine
salt
sugar.
Method:
Mix mince, soaked and drained bread, egg, crushed garlic, cumin, salt and pepper.
Mix well and shape into small sausages.
Coat the sousoukakia with some flour and fry lightly in the butter.
Place the sousoukakia into a baking dish.
Wash the tomatoes and puree them in a blender and put them into the frying pan.
Add the wine, some salt and sugar.
Bring the sauce to a boil then simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour the sauce over the sousoukakia and bake in a moderate oven for ½ hour.
