Small Cocktail Meatballs
Ingredients:
1 kg best mince steak
1 large onion, grated
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 slices bread
20g chopped mint
20g chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 egg, beaten
Plain flour, for coating
Oil for frying
Method:
Cut the crusts off the sliced bread and soak in water for a few minutes.
When totally soaked, squeeze the water out and use in the meat mixture.
Combine all of the ingredients together until well incorporated. Dip hands in flour and start making small balls with the mince.
Dip the meatballs in flour until well coated.
Heat the oil in the frypan, when it becomes hot start frying the meatballs, reduce the heat a little.
Turn over so they are evenly cooked.
Drain on kitchen paper.
Serve with tomato relish.
These are really good as an hors d’oeuvres, served on a toothpick
