Baton Sale (makes approx 60 batons)

Ingredients:
250g salted butter, melted
2 eggs
100mls peanut oil
100mls milk
75g grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon mustard powder
1 teaspoon cumin
Approx 550g-600g self- raising flour, sifted
Beaten egg for glazing
Cumin seeds

Method:
Beat butter and oil together, until smooth and creamy
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition
Add cheese, salt, pepper, mustard powder and cumin. Mix well
Gradually add sifted flour until mixture becomes a soft dough. Knead lightly
Take small amounts of the dough (to weigh approx 18g)and knead gently between your hands, then roll out, using the palm of your hand, onto a floured surface into 13 cm (5in) rolls (batons)
Glaze with beaten egg and sprinkle whole cumin seeds on top.
Place batons onto a greased oven tray and bake in a hot oven (200 degrees C) for12 minutes or until light golden brown.
