Rissoles – Keftethes

Ingredients:
700g good minced beef
1 large onion, finely grated
2 slices of bread
1 bunch mint, washed and finely chopped
Salt and pepper
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 egg, lightly beaten
Flour for coating
Oil and butter for frying

Method:
Cut the crusts off the bread and soak in some water.
When soaked, squeeze out all of the water.
Add the mince, onion, soaked bread, mint, salt and pepper to taste and cumin.
Mix well then add the egg, to bind the mixture.
Form into round balls, about the size of a walnut.
Coat in flour and fry gently, in the oil and butter, turning to ensure they are well browned on all sides.
